Wrapped in a yellow band reading “Caution: Clothes to Die For,” this crime-inspired mailer uses fashion props as weapons to promote Anni’s fashion show. Scissors in a pool of blood red fabric. Lint rollers chained together as nunchucks. A shirt “hung” on a hanger. Captions like “Another hit to order,” and “Never struggle with fit” support the theme. Designed by Chris Riley.
In case you didn’t know, Anni Kuan is a serious foodie, and an extremely talented chef. Were she not cutting fabric into beautiful shapes, she would probably be doing so with vegetables. This mailer uses food props to showcase clothing and illustrate the theme of “What’s Fresh this Season.” Visual puns include “button” mushrooms, and two-legged carrots. Designed by Chris Riley.
Pulling inspiration from the childhood “fortune teller” game, this brochure for Anni Kuan literally answers the question “What Do I Wear?” Pick an occasion such as “Hot Date,” and two possible outfits are suggested. The illustrations were created using pieces of the clothing fabric. Inside the designer’s name ANNI KUAN appears as the piece moves. Designed by Chris Riely.

Announcing the first collection in the year of the horse we sent out a shrink wrapped and crumbled piece of newsprint featuring the new collection as well as wrapping a little plastic horse. We looked for a cheap and quick solution: Plastic horse = 8 cents, crumbeling of paper = 4 seconds. Designed by Stefan Sagmeister.

Burn-marked brochure for Anni Kuan, an Asian fashion designer working in New York. We bought 10 irons and utilized them like printing presses, an iron burns through the 16 pages of one brochure in 5 minutes. Designed by Stefan Sagmeister.

Utilizing a widely distributed plastic bag shrinkewrapped to our newsprint catalogue. The designers of the bag did not trust New Yorkers to grasp the meaning of “I heart NY” and have helpfully provided the word “love” inside the heart. Just to make sure they also forged the “o” of “love” into a heart shape. This bag has recently been voted “the most stupid design of New York” by an informal gettogether of New York designers. The catalog show’s Anni’s clothing in front of her favorite New York locations. Designed by Stefan Sagmeister.
